South aisle west window of Norwich Roman Catholic Cathedral

Designed by John Hardman Powell this lancet window is dedicated to St John the Evangelist.

The main images are: God the Father (top); the Church depicted as a woman (central); St John holding a quilled pen and an eagle, which of course is his emblem (bottom).

In between these are: Jesus (the Man-child) being taken up to heaven by angels accompanied by the Holy Spirit represented as a dove; the beast with seven heads, as described in the Book of Revelations.
