shield detail

The nave windows were all designed by John Hardman Powell (1827 – 94).

This is one of six south- aisle windows of a grisaille design. Each is unique and depicts regular, delicate geometric leaf patterns. Additionally this window contains a heraldic shield, containing on the left the arms of the Howard family, who financed the Cathedral.
